Summer Projects Enhance Safety and Security

Keeping PA safe allows our students to flourish in an encouraging and nurturing environment, while giving parents the peace of mind that their children are in good hands. Our efforts to critically assess the security of our campus on an ongoing basis leads us to actionable steps that create a safe and effective atmosphere for our community.

Each summer on the PA campus improvements to our facilities and property are a top priority. Projects are prioritized, budgeted, and scheduled each fall in preparation for the short summer months. The summer of 2018 saw many important upgrades to our campus benefiting students in all divisions.

  • IMG_8203In the Lower School, the playground area under the climbing equipment was resurfaced with pour in place rubber and turf with rubber infill for a safer recess experience for our students. According to the CDC, each year in the United States, emergency departments treat more than 200,000 children ages 14 and younger for playground-related injuries.
  • In the Middle School, new exterior courtyard doors were installed with glass side panels and a break resistant coating serving as a security barrier.
  • In the Upper School, security cameras were strategically placed. Forty-four cameras have been installed so far.

Our facilities staff continually works to ensure that our campus meets the needs of our entire school community. We are committed to creating a safe environment for all of our students.
