How does College Counseling give High School Students the Boost they need to get into their college of choice?

The Upper School Counseling Center is an essential partner in helping students transition from childhood into adulthood.Their mission is to assist students and families in preparing and navigating the academic transition into college. This includes college counseling, college test preparation, academic advising, the junior year college trip and many other services. This fall, counselors have been busy providing a variety of support for US families including:

  • Scheduling 415 students into 3320 classes 
  • Presenting 8 National Merit Semifinalists to be recognized by the University of Arkansas Chancellor in 2016
  • Offering ACT preparation classes 
  • Hosting 50 college representatives for interested juniors and seniors 
  • Sponsoring and organizing, along with LS and MS Counselors, Lunch and Learn, a program presenting contemporary and relevant parenting strategies to our parents and the community from leading professionals in the Central Arkansas area. 
  • Participating in College Night to introduce 130 college representatives to students in grades 9-12 
  • Administering the PSAT to students in grades 9-11 
  • Planning the Junior College Trip for Spring 2017, where juniors will travel to 16 -18 colleges and universities from Vermont and New Hampshire to North Carolina
